Thai Driving License Renewal 2 years/5 years
The process of renewing your Thai driving license depends on the type of license you hold the 2- year temporary license or the 5-year permanent license
1. 2-Year Temporary Driving License Renewal:
- Initially, foreigners and Thai nationals are issued a 2-year temporary license (also called a probationary license) when they first apply.
- You can apply for a renewal up to 3 months before this license expires.
- Once renewed, you will be issued a 5-year permanent license.
Required Documents:
- Passport with a valid visa or visa extension.
- Work Permit or Certificate of Residence from Immigration or your embassy.
- Medical Certificate (not older than 1 month).
- 2-Year Temporary Driving License (your current license).

2. 5-Year Permanent Driving License Renewal:
- Once you hold a 5-year license, you can renew every 5 years.
- You can apply for a renewal up to 6 months before the license expires.
- The renewed license will be valid for 5 years, but if renewed before your birthday, it will be valid for 5 years and 6 months.
